Sir: Facebook is a powerful social media and it is becoming an increasingly important way of obtaining information not only about friends and family but also about world events. Nowadays, the misuse of this social media has been spreading unrest among its users and the major problems are hacking and blackmailing. Hacking is not an activity. It is a crime because using someone else’s account without their consent is unethical. Read private chats, misusing his/her pictures and documents are technically illegal. This would fall under the category of cyber crimes. These immoral and shameful activities do not suit civilised and sensible citizens. In this critical situation, civil society activists, educators and teachers have to play a crucial role in assisting young people in learning how to use this new technology creatively and productively.
