The news that over 70 percent of blood banks in Punjab are running without a registration and pathologists is really alarming and shows negligence on the part of concerned authorities. As per law, registration is mandatory for any blood bank or lab and even medical equipment are also required to get registration from Drug Regulation Authority Pakistan’s Technical Board however, most of them are running without any registration. Since healthcare of masses is among the top priorities of government therefore, the government must pay attention to this serious issue on an urgent basis. It is hoped that the Chief Minister Punjab will take notice of this issue at the earliest so that matters of health may be run in a smooth and safe manner. SAQIB ALI Lahore
