Sir: Listening to music always gives pleasure, it is the most lovely pass time and it gives relief from all tensions and exhaustions. The classical music, pop, rock and love songs transform our mood completely. We mostly give importance to international content, because of this, our Pakistani music industry is facing crisis. Another reason behind this crisis is lack of platforms. Due to this, many talented youngsters suffer and become helpless. There is no commercial support with them. No one wants to invest amount on their music albums. After Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Mehdi Hassan, Sajjad Ali, Hassan Jahangir, Alamgir, Ali Azmat, Atif Aslam, Ali Zafar, there was not so much talent found. Nowadays, Pakistani films and drama songs and OSTs were sung by international singers, which is wrong. We should promote our talent, our singers. New channels should be opened. Academies and music schools should be opened for those who take it seriously and wants to learn music. For those who really consider music as a profession, and are passionate about it, their families should support them and should not mind their profession. Investors and production houses should support new talent. We should own and support Pakistani music industry. IFFAT FATIMA Via Email
