Sir: In today’s world, mobile phone phobia is increasing day by day, which can be named as Nomophobia (No mobile phone phobia). The victims of this phobia are those individuals who experience anxiety due to the fear of not having access to a mobile phone. In 2016, mobile phone users reached almost 140 million and in a survey 53 percent were found suffering from this phobia. The survey showed that this phobia affects young people more than older people. This phobia can be extremely dangerous. It is becoming a reason for increasing health problems. When a person uses a mobile phone while driving, he/she can get into an accident. When one is engrossed in a device, he does not care about his surroundings. Nomophobia is a disease that can become a precursor of so many other diseases. We should be aware of its severe effects on us and make others aware too so that people should limit their use of mobile phones. ARIBA KHAN Karachi
