Sir: The findings reported in the JIT and the Panama case are about foreign accounts, shell companies and deals with millions, if not billions of rupees, which is beyond the imagination of many Pakistanis. Therefore they are not interested in the Panama case, rather they are more interested about the case proceedings. So far the people of Pakistan have learned that you can retract any confessional statement by saying it was “taken under duress”. Similarly they have learned that you can travel in unregistered vehicles, even to Supreme Courts, if escorted by police. Now they are waiting to see how the courts will react to submission of fake documents that are also attested. While also looking at how the courts will react to fake statements and delay in submission of required documents. These are the issues that are more interesting to the common Pakistani, because these are the issues that can help them get away after committing crime that can gain them wealth and hence power.
