Sir: The automobile manufacturers of Pakistan have claimed in the newspaper that they have attained the localization of 50-70% of all automobiles in Pakistan in the last two years, which provides them with parts that are 25% cheaper. While there has been massive decrease in petroleum prices that has also reduced prices of chemicals and raw materials used in automobiles. But still the people of Pakistan do not yet enjoy any decrease in local manufactured automobiles. I would like to request the relevant Ministry to investigate why the people of Pakistan are not getting locally manufactured vehicles at low prices. I would also like to suggest to the Government to include a clause in the Auto Policy 2016-21, which would ask local manufacturers to export 500 Pakistan manufactured automobiles in 4 years. The target would increase by 100 per year, and the manufacturers that do not achieve the target should be charged a heavy tax for not exporting. This will help the local manufacturers make export quality product, which will ultimately benefit the people of Pakistan in terms of higher quality automobiles and export revenue. ENGR.
