Sir: In recent years, we have witnessed transition of Pakistan from an economically unstable country to one of the emerging economies of the world. Though this looks like a positive sign but still there are many issues that threaten the development of Pakistan in future years. One of these is the rising unemployment. Though Pakistan is developing at a good rate in recent times, the country is failing to create jobs for the people. Economically, this has been a major issue for Pakistan as many of the fresh and brilliant minds are being forced to leave the country due to poor job opportunities. Furthermore, the population is increasing at an alarming rate, and jobs are not being created accordingly. The problem of unemployment has been one of the leading causes of poverty in Pakistan. People due to poverty have been forced to get involved in illegal practices, and hence the crime rate is increasing day by day. Government must take steps to resolve this issue. They must create better job opportunities for qualified people and improve educational standards to bring better employees in the market. Furthermore, both the agricultural and industrial sector must be developed and expanded as these two areas can create numerous jobs for underqualified people. RIDA ABRAR Karachi
