Sir: More than 70 percent of Pakistan’s medical students are women but unfortunately, only a few go on to practice in the field, according to the Pakistan Medical and Dental council (PMDC). Only 23 percent of the nation’s doctors are women. Most residual medical students leave their studies and choose to get married. As a result, the country is facing a shortage of doctors. To end this, all parents need to support their daughters and must not force their daughters to get married while studying. Yasira Mansoor Turbat Published in Daily Times, July 23rd 2017.
