Sir: Recently, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif launched the national health plan in Balochistan to ensure the provision of free medical treatment to families living under poverty line. Under the scheme, medicines will be provided to 76,000 families in four districts including Kech, Quetta, Lohralai and Lasbela in Balochistan. The scheme covers all kinds of diseases like cancer, organ failure, and chronic inflection diabetes including maternity care. Under the programme, a family will get Rs 50,000 for secondary care treatment when the patient is hospitalised. Also, the amount can be doubled in case of emergency. Each family can get treatment worth Rs 250,000 under the category of priority diseases which include cancer, accidents, burn injuries diabetic, and other complications. I appreciate the prime minister for taking such a welfare measure. ATIQ GULAB Turbat
