Sir: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a great project of Pakistan as well as Asia but unfortunately it is full of difficulties and misunderstandings. Gwadar-sea is like backbone of CPEP but local people of Gwadar are facing a number of problems. Recently, students from Gwadar met Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore. It was an opportunity to eliminate misunderstanding between two provinces. Moreover, a few students raised questions about a lack of basic facilities like clean water, hospitals, deficiencies of electricity, etc in Gwadar. It was not only the voice of a few individuals but also the voice of local people. On the other hand, a journalist (Hamid Mir) also visited Gwader to meet local people. People repeated the same question before the ministers and CPEC Committee. They said that we were not against any development including CPEC but they wanted to save their right. They demanded the authorities concerned to give them right to prey in specific area as they did before. So, it is the duty of representative/government to address all problems faced by the local people. If government does not take interest to improve the challenges of local people, it may be cause big problems for CPEC in future. HAROON JAN MUREEDZAI Gwadar
