Sir: Pakistan and India had always been rivals when it comes to sports or other issues, the public of both the countries takes no time in turning a cricket match to a battle and cricket stadium to a battle-field. The soldiers (players) feel highly pressurised as the crazy cricket fans who are also enthusiastic patriots have their hopes high from their respective team. This intensity is noticed around the world whenever Pakistan and India’s teams are playing against one another. But, the gesture displayed by the current Indian cricket team was out of the blue, when the Captain of India Virat Kohli sent his shirt as a tribute to the former Pakistani captain, which had signatures of all the players of his team along with signature of their coach Ravi Shastri, to Shahid Khan Afridi. The 39-year old player recently announced retirement from international cricket which brought an end to his glorious 20 years of international cricket career. This act of harmony from his on-field opponents and off-field friends is worth appreciating, and all the cricket lovers from Pakistan and across the border are cherishing this wonderment moment.
