Sir: Sindh with a large population plays an important role in terms of country’s economy, but the standard of education is very low in the province. There are only a few institutions in urban areas that have shown some improvement; otherwise the education sector has been in a mess. One can only wonder how this structure can really stand up to its potential. The government must look at the total enrollment and the number of those children who are not going to schools. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government had promised to improve the poor education system in the province; however, it has failed to fulfil its commitment. The central government has also ignored the education sector. The government has to come up with appropriate measures in order to increase the literacy rate in the country. GULJAN Turbat
