Sir: For six out of 12 months, we talk about corruption and terrorism and for the remaining period, we talk about floods and its victims. During floods, we make appeals for donations. Our politicians get another opportunity for photo shoots and TV coverage at the cost of their voters who become homeless and suffer from colossal loss of lives, lands, crops and property. They do politics on inundated and destroyed households, villages and towns and wait for the next monsoon spell to express their sympathies and support to the destitute. Before elections, politicians make so many promises like there will be no load shedding, no exploitation, no corruption, no price-hike and all issues would be resolved within six months. Now, about four years have passed but we see no change in the plight of the poor masses. The previous PPP government had no goal except to protect the misdeeds of Asif Zardari. This time, the PML-N is striving hard to protect its leaders’ misdeeds of the past and make money at all costs. Our politicians are there only to suck the blood of their voters. All Pakistanis, except the stupid followers of politicians, want an across the board accountability of these men at the helm of affairs who are playing with the fate of the nation and the country just to achieve their personal ends of making money at all costs.
