Sir: Recently in Sindh, Tania Khaskeli was murdered; she was an innocent, young, and a brave girl. Heinous crimes against women are increasing day by day including rape, harassment, honour killings, and many other grave social injustices. Sindh government is silent and no one is taking any action against the perpetrators of this heinous crime. This type of crime is increasing due to different causes; one main cause is poverty, and then lack of social awareness, feudalism, corruption, unequal distribution of basic rights and delayed justices also play a role in this. Tania’s parents are waiting for justices but why are responsible institutions are silent. In our society, feudal class is dominating and the police have failed to fight feudalism. The HR Commission, Sindh, Supreme Court and other concerned institutions should take serious notice of Tania’s case and on urgent basis provide justice to her family. Involved men must be arrested and hanged in front of the public. SHAFIQUEWASSAN Khairpur Mir Published in Daily Times, September 19th 2017.
