Sir: CPEC is not just a road between Gwadar and Kashgar, but a game changer for Pakistan. It is one of the mega projects in the world, which can change not only the future of Pakistan and China but also of other Asian countries. China is world’s biggest country in terms of population, with one of the fastest growing economies in the world. A big part of China’s economy is dependent on industries and trade. The CPEC route being built from Kashgar to Gwadar and Karachi ports will be used to export Chinese products all over the world, while China will also be able to import oil from oil rich countries. CPEC will also provide a route to other Asian countries to import oil and other products from energy rich countries like Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Iran. Before the inception of CPEC, China was using a rather larger route for import/exports of goods that also passed through the Straits of Malacca and the South China Sea issue. China is not only building roads in Pakistan,it is also developing industries, companies, electrical power projects to generate huge amount of electricity for Pakistan. CPEC holds the potential usher a new era of growth in the country and the opportunity should be properly realised to reap full benefits. ASAD INAM via Email
