Sir: Since the two nations, Pakistan and India have emerged as independent states on the world map, both of them are having tough relationship. During the 70 years of history, these two nations have battled four times officially or unofficially with each other and the chronicles reveal extremely painful experiences for both nations with gigantic number of injuries and deaths on both sides. Whatsoever, the objectives of these pertinent wars were, we have seen none of these countries achieved more benefits than loss in these wars. Yet these two countries are seen ready to come to the battlefield and relentlessly threaten one another. Even when these two nations are not at war, there are certain elements of tension constantly remain at the borderline. The people living near these borders often experience bombardments and the strikes of heavy weaponries which cost them their lives and properties. Their lives have become an epitome of helplessness. These people get deprived of their lives and belongings as a result of such unprovoked firing and bombardment incidents and it seems that none of these two countries’ governing bodies are interested to reimburse their loss or at least confine themselves from making any such mistake in the future. Unfortunately, it seems that the governing authorities of both these countries are too busy in retaliating each other that they have forgotten their preliminary objective to provide relief and work for the betterment of their residents instead of battling. At the end, I would like to raise a question here from the authorities of both the countries that when these people lose their lives and possessions as a result of border violations, who should be held responsible and from whom they should seek mercy?
