Sir: I want to draw the attention of the Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan towards the sale of substandard, fake and unhygienic beverages sold at every railway station and in trains. For years this practice has been allowed without government intervention to improve things. Similarly the meals served in trains are not up to the mark. The caterers have been found saying that the railway officials concerned and all the divisional superintendents take kickbacks from them for maintaining their contract therefore providing quality food is impossible. In the light of these facts the PM should initiate an inquiry through a special committee to probe into the matter and arrest those responsible for this corruption. After all we are citizens of this country and not dogs that we should be forced to live an animal’s life. RAJA GHAZANFAR Rawalpindi
