Sir: Relationship between India Pakistan have always been complex and intense. They have never been good neighbours ever since portion. Now it is the 70th birthday of twin countries. These 70 years have gone in hatred. Both the countries have only witnessed conflicts and tensions over the years. The problem is India and Pakistan relate to each other but only negatively. Each has been engaged in weakening the other. British at that time did everything to divide us and make us fight and they got success as well. Now they have left us but still we are divided and have maintained the fights. There is big tension in our political situations. We do not have bilateral relations. Not only in political but in sport we also have big rivalry. WD do not take the game as game but war and when we lose we destroy our own TV and homes. Media from both sides are antagonist Indian media that is anti Pakistan vice versa. Our textbook have also added every much to do this hatred. A recent study show that students from both the countries are getting skewed version of history. And this very much true. In our government approved grade books in Balochistan Hindus are described as they who massacred Muslim confiscated their property and faced them to leave India. And on the other side of border students are taught a complete different stories. In our books there is little mention of Mahatma efforts for independence of subcontinent and across the border. Both countries are showing completely different stories of history. This has a big effect on students. This increase the hatred from generation to generation and the countries will only grow animosity. Both the countries are reluctant to show the comfortable truth from history. We should mention the good works of our leader but at least not show the other as evils if they are not. ROBINA WASDIL Turbat Kech Published in Daily Times, August 15th 2017.
