Sir: Like many others in my country, I have by now become thoroughly demoralised, disappointed, disheartened and disillusioned with the present state of affairs in the country. I recall that the same situation had arisen way back in 1994, and at that time a caretaker prime minister, Moin Qureshi, was installed. After carrying out sweeping structural reforms and taking many decisive actions, he handed over the reins to the elected government within a short period of time. Another option to defuse the present impasse could be to form a national government comprising honest and dedicated citizens to be selected even from among the ministers of the government.
