Sir: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s approach towards terror groups continues to confuse because he is giving legitimacy to terrorists who want to destroy the country and enforce their own version of Islamic sharia. I would like to tell the prime minister that if he thinks he can buy a permanent peace by striking a deal with the terrorists then he is wrong. The only way to achieve permanent peace is to follow China’s policy of zero tolerance for extremists and to wage and win an all out war against the terrorists. The prime minister ought to know that elected governments should not treat terrorists as stakeholders because terrorists have no right to such favour. They are murderous criminals who have killed more then 50,000 civilians and over 5,000 security personnel, and must not be pardoned for their crimes. S T HUSSAIN Via Email
