Sir: Promotion of education along with developing the habit of book reading among people, particularly the youth, is a dire need of the hour. Only an educated and fully literate society can face the challenges faced by the nation and the country squarely, boldly, and courageously. Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and his government fully realise this as they are taking all possible measures for enrolment of all school going children. The provincial government is also honouring talented and intelligent students who have secured top positions in various examinations. Moreover, it is actively spreading and promoting education both in the rural and urban areas of the province. There are reports in newspapers that are quite commendable indeed. The Special Monitoring Unit working under the innovative and energetic Chief Minister has chalked out a plan to use containers for promotion of education by setting up mobile libraries in the containers, which will be going around in the rural and urban areas and providing books to the young and old for reading and knowledge. This is a good suggestion, which should be properly implemented and given due publicity so that the people, particularly the students, could avail the facilities offered through it. Hopefully, the plan prepared by the Special Monitoring Unit will soon be implemented and properly monitored. AAMER A. NAJMEE Lahore
