Sir: Residents of Mubarak village cannot live without their lanterns. People have to light up their lanterns at night because there is no electricity in the village. Mubarak village is located at a distance of 30 km from Karachi. The government had started a project to provide electricity to the village in 2009 but work has been stopped on it without any reason. The people of Karachi are living in the scientific age comparatively but the fishermen of Mubarak village are living in the Stone Age. Us villagers are not considered a part of Karachi. There are two large electricity-generating power stations that provide electricity to the city but we have been living without electricity. How long will this ‘fun’ be enjoyed at the expense of the residents of Mubarak village? After all, they are citizens of this country too. They also pay taxes. The government should give them their fundamental rights.SARFRAZ HAROONMubarak village
