Sir: Cell phones are an essential part of our lives in this technology infested generation. Nowadays, everyone, from twelve-year olds to the aged, roams around carrying a smart-phone in their hand. These devices are consuming teenage minds to the limit that their studies are being compromised. Students all around bring their cell phones to schools and colleges and are often engaged in texting or simply scrolling through their Instagram feed during class. This distraction has led to teachers and parents, both, being frustrated. It is considered ill-mannerly to be ignoring the teacher while they are contributing their time for the welfare of students. Moreover, many students are found cheating during class and have had their cell phones confiscated. I, as a student myself, am against the use of cell phones in class. No one wants to be distracted by other people’s ringing cell phones or be nudged by their friend just to see a funny meme; it breaks the temperament of the lecture and is disrespectful to the teacher.
