Sir: Nishan-e-Pakistan, a national solidarity monument, was inaugurated on Friday. Besides being a symbol of national unity and cohesion, it also commemorates the resilience of people of Karachi, alongside celebrating their determination to establish peace and tranquillity. It also pays tribute to all Karachi’s shuhada. The memorial houses the highest national flag pole (148 feet), a wall of honour and a hall of hope equipped with the latest IT solutions, depicting Pakistan’s history and culture. A tree for each Shaheed has also been planted in an area of 49469 sq. feet. Karachi Corps Commander, Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar, inaugurated the monument along with Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ebad, and Sindh Chief Minister, Qaim Ali Shah. The event was attended by politicians from all parties, bureaucrats, business community, minority leaders and also representatives from armed forces. It was opened for general public after the inauguration. It is also one of the great achievements of the government of Pakistan. Now, people visiting the sea view with their families can easily remember the shuhadas of Pakistan, so that they’ll become more patriotic and enthusiastic to our country.
