PESHAWAR: Female students of Jinnah College for Women secured all the top three positions in the science and arts categories of the Higher Secondary School Certificate examinations as the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar announced the annual results for 2016 on Saturday. Paghunda Mayar of Jinnah College for Women (JCW), University of Peshawar got 1008 out of 1100 marks and secured the first position in the overall result. Syeda Batool Haider and Amina Khan of JCW shared the second position with 1007 marks. Similarly, Zainab Nawaz of JCW and Safina Tanveer of Islamia College for Girls University of Peshawar secured 1003 marks and shared the third position in the overall results. In the Pre-Engineering group, Asad Sultan of Islamia College Peshawar (ICP) got the first positionwith 1000 marks. He was followed by Muhammad Shadman Khan of ICP with 985 marks. Shafaq Tauqir of JCW and Habibullah of ICP got 984 marks and shared the third position. In General Science group Aiman Ayub of Bacha Khan Government Girls Degree College, Kohat Road Peshawar got te first position with 937 marks. The second in this category was Salma Noor of JCW with 935 marks, followed by Mahanoor Javed of JCW with 925 marks. Shakeeba Altaf of Government Frontier College for Women Peshawar, got 888 marks and secured the first position In the Humanities Group. Zeemad Ahmad a private candidate got 886 marks and Uzma of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nishtar Abad Peshawar got 881 marks and clinched the third position. According to the result copy a total of 49,149 candidates appeared in the FA/FSC examination 2016 in which 38,351 were declared “passed” while the result stood at 78 percent. The JCW students secured almost all the top 20 positions in the intermediate result.
