PESHAWAR: Tribal leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and elders from Koki Khel tribe of Khyber Agency have urged the government to increase the compensation amount fixed for rehabilitation of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Koki Khel tribe of Tirah valley of the agency. Addressing a news conference in press club on Wednesday, PML-N General Secretary Khyber Agency, and elder of Koki Khel tribe, Said Gha Jan said the compensation amount of Rs 400,000 announced by government for the completely damaged houses is not sufficient, adding that prices of building material have increased manifold during the recent past. Flanked by PML-N leaders and elders from Koki Khel tribe including, Bismillah Jan, Najeeb Afridi, Ali Madad Khan and others, he informed media that more than 5,000 families had affected due to military operation in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency, and took temporary shelter in Shakas, Bara and Jamrud areas of the tribal agency, he added. “FATA people are facing difficulties due to ongoing military operation against the militants”, PML-N leader said. He mentioned the education and health facilities had completely destroyed in militancy-hit Tirah valley ofKhyber Agency.
