PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) here Thursday issued a report regarding deaths and damages due to heavy rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the PDMA report, at least 9 people were killed and as many were injured in different districts of KP while five houses were completely destroyed due to rains. Due to house collapse, landslide and floods, two persons each were killed in Batagram, Shangla and Upper Dir while in Abbottabad three persons lost their lives. In Upper Dir one person was injured, six in Kohistan and two in Abbottabad sustained injured due to rain related incidents. The report further said that five houses were completely destroyed while one was partially damaged as result of heavy rains. Several areas in Sialkot have been inundated due to high level flood in Nullah Palkhu, Nullah Dek and Nullah Aik on Thursday. According to details, the intermittent rain in Sialkot city has badly disrupted the daily routine as Nullah Aik and Nullah Palkhu are witnessing intensive flood, private news channels reported. The flood water has destroyed crops and houses while the areas of Neeka Pura, Nizampura, Pasrur Road, Gopalpur, Jodhay Wali, Raipur and Saidanwali have also been swamped in the water. The flood relief camps established by local administration have also been demolished due to severe rain devastation. The Met office predicted a new spell of monsoon in parts of the country till Thursday.
