PESHAWAR: The Adviser to the Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader, Amir Muqam, said that they had filed a reference in the National Accountability Bureau against misuse of public funds and the using of a government helicopter for the election campaign of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) divisional president Zargul Khan. Addressing a news conference in Peshawar Press Club on Sunday Muqam said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan was using public resources for gaining political benefits and there was a clear contradiction in what he was saying and what he was doing. The Pakistan Muslim League (N) has filed a reference against this illegal use of government funds and misuse of powers. He criticised the provincial government for allowing helicopters to PTI Hazara Divisional President, Zargul Khan, who was running his election campaign for the by-elections of Kohistan. He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had violated all principles of merit and protocol and their leader used public funds and taxes for his own political objectives. He went on to say it is was not the first time as earlier to this the PTI MPA, Gul Saib Khattak, used government helicopters on March 17, 2017 for going to Karak and later the Provincial Minister, Muhammad Atif, used a government helicopter for a visit to a school. He alleged that the PTI government never used this helicopter for the earthquake and flood victims in Chitral. He said that due to the PTI;s wrong perception about change, the province had gone on the back track of development and there was nothing new to improve the lifestyle of the people. He questioned how a chief minister claimed that there was no culture of VIP protocol while the trail of under 13 cricket players in Abbottabad were cancelled due to the making of a helipad for the chief minister’s helicopter. He informed that a large number of cricket players came for the trail of under-13 cricket teams from the far flung districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and they returned without any encouragement and trails. He also severely criticised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Speaker, Asad Qaiser, for sending his own people in every capacity for the training of parliamentarians to England and whenever there was a foreign tour he was inducting his own nominees forcefully. He asked the Election Commission of Pakistan and the National Accountability Bureau to enquire about the matter as the funds of the poor taxpayers were being wasted on the protocol tours of the advisers and PTI office bearers. He said that the PTI leaders first bring changes in their own life style and then bring changes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa adding that there was a contradiction in the statements and actions of PTI leader Imran Khan.
