MANSEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to call a grand jirga of elders of Upper and Lower Kohistan and Palas to end tension created following bifurcation of Kohistan into two districts. “We have decided to unite all nations living in Upper and Lower Kohistan districts and disgruntled people of Palas within next 15 days,” Zargul Khan, the divisional president of PTI in Hazara division told reporters here on Saturday. He said that in view to current observations raised by people of Dasu the district headquarters of Upper Kohistan, people of Pattan the district headquarters of Lower Kohistan and Palas a Tehsil of Lower Kohistan the PTI government would find such a solution which could address grievances of all parties. “We are going to call a grand jirga within next 15 days as we have many options to float to end tension triggered following bifurcation of Kohistan into two districts,” said Khan. He said that people of Palas which is now a Tehsil of Lower Kohistan following Supreme Court verdict wanted their previous status of a Tehsil of Upper Kohistan or district headquarters of newly notified district of Lower Kohistan.
