PESHAWAR: Speaker in a seminar urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to equipped Labor Room in every Basic Health Units across the province. This was said in an advocacy seminar organized by DFID Funded and Palledium Pakistan managed project “Community Score Card and Community Uplift Program for the improvement of health delivery system in district Charsadda here in a local hotel on Tuesday. Mr. Sultan Khan, Member Provincial Assembly and Chairman Standing Committee for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while speaking at the 1st Advocacy Seminar for Health, said that it is very encouraging to see that the “Community Score Card” project not only fully complements the citizens’ healthcare initiatives of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but will also help us in getting a user/citizen feedback on the quality of healthcare services. He added that the entire Community Score Card process is very participatory between users and service providers and results in development of joint agreed action plans for each BHUin this case 43 BHUs of District Charsadda. He assured DFID and Palladium Pakistan of complete support of the Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Implementer of CUP Pakistan for this Project. Community Uplift Program (CUP) Pakistan is a National NGO working in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2001 currently through an MOU with the Department of Health, KPK, is implementing an innovative project funded by DFID/managed by Palladium Pakistan in District Charsadda since April 2016, which aims to improve the quality of primary healthcare services through a “Community Score Card” Method. Colonel Iftikhar Ur Rahman, the Chief Executive of Community Uplift Program (CUP) Pakistan presented a detailed overview of the concept and the objectives of the Advocacy Seminar, for health care improvement within the framework of Community Score Card Methodology in District Charsadda of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The purpose of the Advocacy seminar he explainedis to influence key policy level stake holders, using available evidence (1st CSC results) for informed decision making to Institutionalize Community Score Card (CSC) model as a citizen-inclusive monitoring & planning method for Improvement in the Quality of Primary Health Services in district Charsadda, KPK. On the occasion other health department KP officials and community representative were also present.
