PESHAWAR: Dozens of residents of Regi Model Town Peshawar staged a protest demonstration against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government and Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) demanding they ensure the completion of development projects and gas facilities. The residents while holding banners and placards, loudly chanted slogans against the provincial government for not taking any interest in resolving the issues they faced in Regi Model town. Addressing the crowd, some residents said that the government had promised to resolve all issues: including the provision of gas and electricity facilities in Regi Model town but not a single step has been taken to provide basic facilities and complete the projects in all zones of Regi Model Town Peshawar. They said that they came to Peshawar Development Authority office to inform the authorities concerned but they shut their doors to block the entry of protestors into the PDA office. The protesters appealed toKhyberPakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman) to take serious notice of the slow pace of work and development in Regi Model town to accommodate hundreds of families in this housing scheme. Provincial Minister for local government and rural development Inayatullah Khan has recently promised to resolve this issue and allocated one billion rupees for missing facilities in Regi Model Town, however the residents are still protesting against theincompletion of road and gas facilities.
