LANDIKOTAL: The Afghan authorities on Saturday released the three Pakistani transporters who were arrested in Kabul in 2016. “Yes, the Afghan authorities handed over the three transporters to Pakistani officials at Torkham border,” said a source. Afghan border authorities brought the Pakistani transporters identified as Yadullah Shinwari, Mikaeel Khan and Riaz in an armoured vehicle to Pak-Afghan border and handed them over to the Pakistani counterparts. “The transporters had gone missing on their way back from Kabul to Pakistan in February 2016,” Haidar Ali Shinwari, elder son of the released Yadullah Shinwari, told The News by phone. It is to be mentioned here that a helper of the released Pakistani transporters, Niamatullah Shinwari, died a few days after he was released and handed over to Pakistani authorities at Torkham border a few months ago.
