The uplifting of the hospital is a visionary step taken by the Board of Governor and hospital management for the betterment of the patients and institution. Similarly the Hospital renovation plan formalities have been completed. The ground breaking ceremony will be held soon by the Health Minister Shahram Tarakai. The KTH was built and made functional in 1976 with a covered area of 0.583 million square feet since then no sufficient funds were provided for the maintenance of building and utility services (electricity, water supply, sewerage and sanitation etc) which resulted in the deteriorating of the building, services and patient care while realizing the facts government of KP provided Rs 700 million for the Renovation, Repair, Beautification and Refurbishment of the MTI KTH Peshawar. MTI KTH reclaimed more than one hundred thousand square feet area of the basement for hospital facilities under the renovation project. The basement is kind of junk yard which will be reclaimed for hospital services/ facilities.
