PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly passed the law to give a reward of 30 per cent of the money involved in any identified corruption case to whistleblower with the aim to eliminate corruption and corrupt practices. The Assembly passed “The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission Bill 2016” and “The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prohibition of Interest on Private Loans Bill 2016” unanimously on Monday. According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission Bill 2016, that citizen of the province who identified corruption and irregularities then he will be rewarded 30 per cent of the money which was handed by the government from the corrupt person. The bill was presented by Member of Provincial Assembly Arif Yousaf while the opposition party member Sardar Babak Hussain of Awami National Party rejected the bill saying that in this bill people will benefits it for its own interest to take revenge from their rival groups. Babak also demanded from the government to explain the bill that what is the status of this bill in Islamic Sharia, adding that because of the bill the corruption will not decrease in the province but it will further increase differences among the people. While giving explanation Senior Minister Inayat Ullah Khan said that in the bill it was written that those people who blame someone and allegation were not proved against the person then that person will be fine according to the law. Shah Farman, Minister for Public Health Engineering Department said that the KP Government has passed Ehtesab Commission Act, Right to Public Information and now the KP Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance bill 2016 to completely root out the menace of corruption from the province. “The KP people give mandate to PTI and it’s in the mandate of PTI to eliminate corruption and give justice to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”, Shah added. Chief Minister Parvaiz Khattak appreciated the bill saying that the bill was discussed in the committee in which all opposition members were present and it was drafted with the consultation of opposition parties members. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prohibition of Interest on Private Loan Bill 2016 which was presented by MPA Fakhr-e-Azam Wazir, Mahmood Jan, Sultan Muhammad Khan, Azaz ul Mulk Afkari in the provincial assembly and was unanimously passed from the floor of the house of the assembly. On the occasion Speaker Asad Qaiser said that Inspector General of Police KP has already directed to take serious steps and stopped the private loans activity in the province. The KP Assembly also condemned the attack from a political party and hoisted flag on the building of the provincial assembly and demanded action against those involved in such act. Speaker Asad Qaiser said that he has already sent a letter to the IGP and asked to reply in one week and take serious action against those who were involved in the incident. A resolution was presented in House by MPA of PPP Nighat Orakzai and signed by both opposition and treasury members, demanding the National Highway Authority to exceed the cabins of Motorway Interchange for public on M-1 like in Punjab. They also demanded the tax should also be reduced on Motorway M-1 and special cabin should be given for the patients that the lives of serious patients can be saved.
