GILGIT: The Karakorum Highway (KKH) between Rawalpindi and Gilgit has been blocked for all types of traffic. Reports said that the road was hit by landslides at Dasu, Jajal and Pattan area on Saturday morning. Efforts of the workers of the Frontier Works Organization are under way to restore traffic. One dead, two injured as snow boulder falls in Chitral: One person was killed while two others were injured when a boulder of snow fell on Sunday morning in Chitral. The snowfall has started again in the upper parts of the district while rain started to pour again in Chitral city. Moreover, snowfall in Lower Topa has caused the electricity wires to break. Subsequently, the power supply was suspended to parts of the district. Motorway police arrest suspects after car chase: Motorway police on Sunday fired shots at a suspected car carrying three persons, including a woman, after one of them fired shots on the highway police officials. According to the Motorway police spokesman, a white corolla car bearing number plate CA-116 stopped at an interchange outside Peshawar city. It was heading to Peshawar from Islamabad. “Police instructed the driver to stop, but he did not, instead, one of them pointed a gun at the police officer and the driver sped away,” motorway spokesman Muhammad Ali Khokhar said. He said the police captured one of them and fired shots at the vehicle, but the driver sped the car back to Islamabad. Meanwhile, the police chased the suspects whose motives were unknown. One of them was identified as Kashif, a resident of Peshawar.
