LAKKI MARWAT: Several temporary and permanent structures and illegally built constructions were razed during anti-encroachment drive in Lakki city on Saturday. The drive was launched on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan who had received complaints about use of roadsides and government-owned land by traders and shopkeepers for business activities. The TMA anti-encroachment squad with the help of heavy machinery removed encroachments from roadsides and in bazaars in the urban locality. Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan supervised the action. An official said that the operation was successful as roadsides were cleared and encroachments were removed from the busy bazaars. He said the shopkeepers had illegally occupied the fronts of their outlets and were using places for display of business items. “The sheds, kiosks and makeshift shops built by traders in the city’s bazaars were also demolished with the help of excavator and tractor,” added the official.
