UPPER DIR: Dir Police conducted a search and strike operation against proclaimed offenders and recovered weapons and arrested two proclaimed offenders. Dir circle DSP, Zahid Khan, and SHO Dir Police Station Attaullah Khan, said while giving briefing to media persons in the office of DSP in Dir that they had conducted the operation in Seratai, Petawo Banda and its adjacent areas against the proclaimed offenders. They said that during the search and strike operation they recovered weapons from the houses of the offenders and also arrested two proclaimed offenders in the operation. Zahid Khan siad that three SMG, two pistols, one rifle, 300 SMG rounds, 44 pistol rounds, 12 SMG Jargers are include in the seized weapons. He said that the search and strike operation against the proclaimed offenders would be continuing and it would be extended to other areas of the district. The circle DSP warned that those who had illegal and unlicensed weapons should voluntarily hand over to police otherwise cases would be registered against from whom weapons were recovered. Suspects: The police arrested 71 suspected persons including 20 proclaimed offenders (POs) during search operation in various areas in the limits of the Nisata Police Station on Thursday, an official said. Talking to reporters, Nisata Police Station in-charge Noorullah Khan said that the police launched search and strike operations in various areas and arrested 71 suspects and 20 POs. The law-enforcers also seized two Kalashnikov rifles, 62 pistols, 11 guns, one other rifle and three kilograms of hashish.
