PESHAWAR: The parents of Army Public School (APS) students who lost their lives in the December 16, 2014 attack, expressed their satisfaction over the killing of the mastermind of the attack Umar Naray alias Khalifa Umar in a US drone strike in Nangrahar province of Afghanistan. On Wednesday, the Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) wing of the Pakistan Army in a statement said that US Commander called Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and confirmed the death of Umar Naray in a drone attack in Afghanistan. Talking to Daily Times Dr. Farooq Shah, the father of Mubeen Shah, student of APS who was killed in the attack, said that after getting to know about the news that the mastermind of APS attack Umar Naray was killed in a drone attack, all the parents of APS children who had lost their lives in the massacre felt relieved and happy. “Umar Naray was killed in a drone attack, and we hope all of those involved in the attack face such a fate,” Dr. Farooq added. He added he appreciated the Pak-Army for taking steps to eliminate terrorists from the country, adding he would always support Pakistan’s forces to eliminate terrorism from the country. Tufail Khattak, another father who lost his son Sher Shah in the APS attack, said that all the parents of APS attack were happy after hearing of the mastermind’s death. “What were the sins of our innocent children who were killed brutally and what answer will these people give to God?” he added. The mother of Mubeen Shah, while talking to Daily Times, said that after the killing of his only son by militants there was no life for them. “Every day I see the picture of my son Mubeen Shah, I feel him asking me if justice will be served.” She further said that after the news of Umar Naray being killed in a drone attack in Afghanistan, all the mothers who lost their children in APS attack were happy and satisfied. She further said she appreciated the Army Chief for his commitment to take revenge from the APS attackers. She also appreciated the National Action Plan and Zarb-e-Azab operation in the country and the sacrifices of Pak-Army in the war against terror, adding that sacrifices of APS martyred will return peace to the country.
