CHARSADDA: Students of Bacha Khan University (BKU) Charsadda staged a protest demonstration against the university administration and demanded fair compensation to the heirs of the martyr students who were killed on 20 January, 2016 in terrorists attack on the university. According to details, the students of the varsity staged protest demonstration and blocked Farooq Azam Chowk, Charsadda for all kind of traffic. Addressing on the occasion, Students Action Committee chief Malak Farooq said that soon after the attack the university administration had formed a committee, however, till to date the committee failed to materialize the students’ demands and fulfil their promises with the university students. Another student, NaseerUllah told that their demands are to rename all the university academic blocks after the names of the martyrs. Secondly, they also demanded compensation to the heirs of the martyrs for their luggage lost during the attack. The protesting students also demanded refund of admission fees to the heirs of martyr and injured students. The protesters warned to shut the university if their genuine demands were not fulfilled till Monday January 16. It is pertinent to be mentioned here that gunmen stormed Bacha Khan University in Charsadda on January 20, killing teachers and students in a rampage that left 22 dead and more than 20 injured.
