PESHAWAR: Chairman Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said that QWP is fighting for the rights of general masses particularly labourers, poor and lower middle class people from all over country without any discrimination of cast, colour or creed. Addressing a big public gathering in which scores of people from different walks of life including a large number of social and political activists joined QWP in Rawalpindi he spelled the program, agenda and manifesto of his Party particularly with reference to the present geo-political situation in detail and stated that the restoration of peace and ensuring the basic rights of the people at large is key to prosperity. The function was besides others addressed by KP Minister for Labour and Mineral Development Anisa Zeb Tahirkhieli, Senior Provincial Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan sherpao, MPA Miraj Hamayun and a large number of senior leaders of QWP also participated. Those who joined QWP on this occasion also includedKhalid Mahmud, Zarar Butt, Baber Shahzad advocate, Mohammad Saeed Akber and Naeem Gul Durrani. While he said that they will cooperate with all political parties for restoration of peace, the rule of law and election reforms they will never compromise over the provision of basic rights, provision of basic amenities of life and development of people on equal basis from all parts of the country and all strata of society. He called upon the government to forthwith stop discrimination against the citizens, release the struck up CNICs of the Pakhtun and ensure the due share of the people of small federating units of the country in mega development projects particularly those under the umbrella of CPEC. While paying rich tributes to the sacrifices of police, army personnel and political workers against terrorists, he pointed out that QWP has remained and will continue to remain in the forefront of those offering such sacrifices for peace and prosperity of our future generations. He pointed out that CPEC is an opportunity for the Federal Government to bring the people of back-word and previously ignored parts of the country on a par with those of others and vowed not to allow any one miss that opportunity. However, he regretted that had the Government acted upon the National Action Plan formulated by all political forces soon after the incident of Army Public School Peshawar, today there would have no need for extension to the establishment of military courts. With regard to the upcoming elections, Sherpao said that QWP would fully participate in it from throughout the country and disclosed that it was fully working with other political parties both outside and inside the parliament to ensure each and every citizen of the country is provide peaceful of casting his vote. He disclosed that a lot of progress has been made in the proposed election reforms.
