MANSEHRA: The Federal Minster for Hajj and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Mohammad Yousuf, on Monday asked the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government to shun its unjustified propaganda on the China Pakistan Economic corridor (CPEC). “I ask Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to stop misleading lawmakers and public regarding the CPEC. I know he is jealous over the development in Hazara and other parts of the province through the China-Pakistan joint venture,” Yousuf told participants at a reception hosted by the Pakistan Peace Council at the press club here. Sardar Yousuf said that all an parties’ conferences would soon be organised at the district and divisional level to give a tit-for-tat response to the resolution adopted by the provincial assembly seeking western roots the other day. “We cannot allow the PTI government to hijack the ongoing development projects under CPAC in Hazara and other parts of the KP and would give a reciprocal response to the propaganda being hatched by it in name of “western root” and would soon be holding an all parties conventions at the district and divisional level in order to remove the misconceptions regarding CPAC,” he said. He said that the provincial government had failed to live up to the expectations of the people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in Hazara and that was why it was creating a hue and cry, so as to cover its own weaknesses but people were good judges. He said that work on the Hassan Abdal-Havalian and then Havalian-Mansehra Motorway, being built under CAPC was well in progress and the time was not far when people not only in Hazara but also from across the country and Gilgit-Baltistan, would enjoy reap the fruits of the mega communication project. The federal minister said that his party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz firmly believed in the prosperity of the people through mega development projects and that was why the PM released an amount of Rs 1.87 billion for laying the alternative natural gas pipeline of 12 inches diameter from Abbottabad to Mansehra. “As the work on the Abbottabad-Mansehra alternative gas pipeline is completed the second phase would be started to supply natural gas to Balakot, Oghi tehsils and Tanawal as the PM had released an amount of Rs 1.87 billion for the first phase,” said the minister. He said that the federal government had inked an agreement with the Japanese government to supply potable water to Mansehra city from Jabbar area in Siren valley and the foreign government would launch that water supply scheme at an estimated cost of five billion rupees. The federal minster praised his ministry for making good arrangements for Hajj this year saying when he took over the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs the people were reluctant to even apply for Hajj through government schemes.
