KOHAT: Former Federal Minister Abbas Khan Afridi on Saturday inaugurated work on the provision of natural gas facility to nine villages in Jarma village of district Kohat. According to the officials of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), the project would be completed in six months period and amount of Rs 40 million would be spent on it. Addressing to the gathering former Federal Minister Abbas Khan Afridi added that this was the right of people of Kohat to have also access to the gas facilities, which has spread though out Pakistan. It’s right of the people living in the region to be the first beneficiary from the natural resources. The former Minister Abbas Khan added The purpose for providing gas for daily homage consumption is to help the people for bringing improvement in their life standard and to consume less energies on cutting woods for fueling cooking activities. Local government representatives, elders of the area and large number of people were also present on the occasion. The local residents of these villages have expressed excitement over the provision of gas facility and said it would give them a great relief. It was our long awaited demand and we are thankful to the government for starting work on the project,” said Malik Taj, a local resident of the area.
