PESHAWAR: Over a dozen persons have been injured in attacks by a wild animal in different villages of Lakki Marwat, KP. According to a private news channel, ten persons injured by the wild animal were brought to Lakki Marwat Hospital while three critically injured were admitted to Bannu Hospital. Local people have expressed concern over the attacks of wild animal and urged the authorities to take remedial measures. Elite Police Force personnel and sharp shooters were reportedly in the area to kill the wild animal. District Police Officer Khalid Hamdani said the animal had attacked people with jaws and claws in Wanda Rehmana, Wanda Katana and Land Ahmedkhel villages during at night. The animal had not yet been identified and the Elite Police Force personnel were trying to find it, he added. According to former District Health Officer Dr Iqbal Marwat, it was not a rabid dog and some people, who had seen it, said it looked like a hyena. As a matter of precaution, rabies vaccine has been given to the affected people.
