KHYBER AGENCY: The political administration Khyber Agency gave away Rs 0.1 million each to the heirs of six persons including five women, killed in road mishap last day in Kam-Shelman area of tehsil Landi Kotal. Political Agent Khyber, Khalid Mehmood flanked by Assistant political agent, Landi Kotal, Niaz Mohammad visited the area on Thursday met the heirs of the deceased and granted them compensation cheques of Rs 0.1 million each. Fifty thousand rupees compensation were also gave to the two injured. The top administration official also offered fatiha for the departed souls and condoled with the bereaved families. Earlier collective funeral prayers of the deceased were offered in Kam-Shalman and later on they were buried in their ancestral graveyard. Meanwhile a modern custom terminal will be established in Torkham with expenditure of 12 billion rupees to provide all possible facilities to exporters and importers. Five billion dollars target have been set in shape of import and export to be achieved in near future. The views were expressed by collector custom Peshawar division, Qrurban Ali while addressing a representative gathering of custom clearing agents association initiated in his honor in custom colony, Landi Kotal on Thursday. Flanked by Assistant Collector, Torkham custom center Fazal Shakoor, Collector Qurban Ali said that on the direction of Federal Bureau of Revenue(FBR),meetings have been convened with officials of Torkham custom house and clearing agents community to get inform of their problems and take necessary initiatives to further boost import export at Torkham border. He further said that setting up a modern custom dry port project would be approved in next week that not only increase trade but would also provide job opportunities to the tribesmen. It is the desire of government to export Pakistani commodities to every local market of Afghanistan and central Asian countries, Qurban maintained. The custom high official added that five billions rupees custom duty had been set annually that would be achieved with the assistance of custom clearing agents. Qurban Ali said in the recent year, volume of seizure goods is doubles as compare to the last year. In replaying to the reservations of the custom clearing agents regarding Political administration and National Logistic Cell (NLC) he assured that matters would be discussed with their officials to solve their problems.
