PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has ordered a constitution of three-member committee to explore possibilities and economic opportunities on western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He issued these directives while attending a briefing on CPEC held at chief minister’s house here on Monday. Public Sector and Government Practice Director Samita Khawar delivered a presentation on the importance of the CPEC and its benefits for Pakhtunkhwa. The expert underlined the need of undertaking a detailed study for chalking out economic identification map on the western route. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the western route was short and secured as compared to the eastern route. He demanded an extension of facilities to the western route as well. He ordered the formation of a three-member committee comprising Strategic Support Unit Chairman Sahibzada Saeed, Ulasi Tehreek leader Dr Said Alam Masood and Economic Zone Development and Management Company Chairman Ghulam Dastagir. The committee would search possibilities of economic opportunities on the western route and cooperate with the federal board of investment to protect rights of the province, said Khattak.
