ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of a suo motu case regarding illegal kidney transplantation until the first week of October and issued notices to the parties involved. The two-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice (CJ) Anwer Zaheer Jamali, conducted the hearing of the case. During the hearing, Aslam Khaki, counsel for a private hospital, argued before the court that despite a suo motu notice, three first information reports (FIRs) were registered against his client and nine departments were investigating against the hospital. The CJ observed that the court had not issued any order against any hospital. “The court order is not implemented even after months and years… Cases are pending in the apex court for implementation of old orders.” He further observed that if institutions move toward the right direction then there was no need to take suo motu notice. The court sought a reply from the government about the performance of state institutions.
