ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Human Rights organised a Seminar on Human Rights Education and Sensitisation here on Wednesday. The Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Kamran Michael was the chief guest. The minister on the occasion emphasised that the message of human rights was a message of peace and mutual respect. He said that the ministry was actively pursuing one of its key objectives to establish a redressal mechanism at the grassroot level. The Minister said the struggle for human rights should be extended beyond the environment of five-star hotels and efforts were required to be made to feel and address the pain of children suffering on the streets. He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to establish a human rights committees at the district level, which would be headed by parliamentarians and would have representation of women, members of the civil society, teachers, and the district administration.
