He also praised the writer, director and artists for staging the play. Hockey stadium: The only hockey stadium in Rawalpindi is still without an artificial turf. According to details, officials of a Dutch company, Green Fields Sports Turf Systems, visited the stadium last month to lay astro-turf in the hockey stadium named after legendary Olympian Shahnaz Sheikh. However, they returned without installing the turf. The Green Fields Sports Turf Systems team pointed out structural faults in the field that needed to be rectified before the astro-turf could be laid. The project to upgrade the stadium is worth Rs 149 million. Despite the claims made by the authorities, the project has not been completed since the last three years. When contacted, Rawalpindi District Sports Officer (DSO) Abdul Waheed Babar admitted that the Green Fields Sports Turf Systems team had returned without laying the astro-turf in the stadium due to faults in the field. “The faults in the field will be rectified this month. The astro- turf will then hopefully be laid in August,” he said. Olympian Shahnaz Sheikh said that it was difficult to rectify the faults in the field due to the rainy season. “The faults will be rectified as soon as the weather clears,” he said.
