ISLAMABAD: The deposits of the Pakistan Post Office have surged to Rs 6.56 billion beyond the authorised limit of Rs 84 million, it has been revealed. According to a secret document, the Pakistan Post has seized Rs 6.56 billion in its accounts against the authorised limit of Rs 84 million. As per the details, the Pakistan Post has seven sections across the country. PA-1 section is related to Karachi circle and in this section the PPO has been authorised to hold Rs 39 million but authorities have kept Rs 231 million in violation of respective law. PA-11 section includes Hyderabad, Quetta and Sukkur region. This section has been authorised to hold maximum Rs 30 million but the respective PPO administration has allegedly kept Rs 367 million. PA-111 section includes Lahore and Faisalabad and this section has deposits of Rs 972 million against the authorised limit of Rs 295 million Similarly, PA-4 section (Multan and Sailkot region) can keep maximum authorised balance up to Rs 136 million but it is allegedly keeping Rs 1.22 billion in its account. The Rawalpindi section of PPO is authorised to hold Rs 82 million and it has held Rs 1.27 billion in its accounts. Section six consists of Muzaffarabad, Islamabad and Gilgit circle. This section is allowed to keep Rs 236 million, but currently the deposits are Rs 1.42 billion. The Pakistan Post can keep Rs 84 million money in hand and if the administration keeps more than the authorised limit, it is liable to be proceeded under the law.
