RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) will observe a ‘Cleanliness Week’ from May 30 to June 5.The civic body is going to observe cleanliness week on the directive of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Saima Shah. After the inauguration, the sanitation staff will start working in their respective wards to keep their areas clean and tidy. Additional Cantonment Executive Officer Rana Rameez and Chief Sanitary Inspector Waris Bhatti will conduct surprise visits daily to ensure whether cleanliness work is being performed to the satisfactory level or not. Walks in this regard would also be held in cantonment areas.The CEO urged the citizens to cooperate with RCB sanitary staff for removal of solid waste and do not throw garbage in streets and on the road sides. The RCB had also observed a cleanliness week during first week of December 2015 which was largely appreciated by the cantt residents.According to RCB Media Coordinator Qaisar Mahmood, who is also the assistant secretary, the citizens could approach the authorities of the civic body in order to point out about the presence of filth and garbage in their neighbourhoods, which would be removed on immediate basis.
